Matt Lipps
Matt Lipps (b. 1975, Oakland, CA, USA) shoots three-dimensional tableaus made of collaged, found photographs. In a lineage of radical montage from Dada to the Pictures Generation, Lipps saves and revives imagery, continuing an archaeological tradition for a new information age. Widely exhibited in major institutions worldwide, Lipps’ work is held in the permanent collections, among others, of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Hammer Museum and LACMA, Los Angeles.
Matt Lipps lives and works in Los Angeles.
