Kathleen Ryan

Kathleen Ryan (b. 1984, Santa Monica, USA) creates sculptures in the palette of the American vernacular, drawings on trinkets, hobbies and leisure; the glory and rudimentary phenomena of nature; and the playground-cum-junkyard of abundance at that country’s heart. A graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, Ryan has held institutional solo exhibitions at the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna; the New Art Gallery, Walsall, UK; the MIT List Visual Arts Center, Cambridge, USA; and the Cc Foundation & Art Centre, Shanghai. Her work is held in publich collections including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles.

Kathleen Ryan lives and works in New York.
